Golf at the college
“There may be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do”
Derek Jeter

Competitive Opportunities
At Yorkshire Golf College, we believe that tournament golf is the ultimate test of development. That’s why competitive play is built into every student’s journey – from professional-level mini-tour events to national college championships and weekly internal competitions.
Yorkshire Golf College x 2020 Tour Partnership
We are proud to partner with the 2020 Tour, one of the UK’s fastest-growing mini-tours. Home to leading professionals from Yorkshire and across Europe, the 2020 Tour gives our students the chance to step into a truly professional environment and measure themselves against elite-level players.
As part of this partnership:
Students compete in a dedicated Yorkshire Golf College Order of Merit (OOM), with prizes awarded to the season winner.
All students are eligible for prize money in main 2020 Tour events, competing directly alongside professional golfers.
The schedule features 15 events, with each student’s best five scores counting towards their OOM ranking.
YGC students receive a discounted entry rate of £50 per event (not included in annual fees; students cover their own travel).
This collaboration exposes students to the demands of professional tournament golf, sharpens their ability to perform under pressure, and gives our coaching team invaluable opportunities to support and analyse their progress in real competition.
AoC Sport Competitions
Alongside professional exposure, students will also gain access to the Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport competitions, including the prestigious AoC Open Golf Championships.
These national events bring together the best college golfers from across the UK and provide a fantastic opportunity to:
Represent Yorkshire Golf College in regional and national championships.
Gain experience in structured tournament play against their peers.
Build confidence and resilience by performing under pressure.
Together, the AoC competitions and our 2020 Tour partnership ensure students experience golf at every level – from college tournaments to the professional stage – preparing them for whatever pathway they choose in the game.
